Many believe that this English made Waterman's W5 was a product made in the 1940's. Actually it is the successor to the 1940's 515. The W5 was produced in the early 1950's, the only differences being a narrow/wide/narrow cap band arrangement as opposed to the single wide cap band on the 515. The nib is also marked differently, the 515 is marked 'No 5' and the W5 is marked 'W5'.
