Pelikan 100 N Piston Filling Vintage Fountain Pen. Green marble barrel with black cap. Made in Germany between 1949 and 1953.
Black celluloid screw-on cap having two gold filled cap bands. Distinctive Pelikan-beak gold filled smooth pocket clip. Ring clip is secured by black domed top. Top of cap inlaid with Pelikan (two chick) signet.
Green cellulose acetate single piece barrel. Green marbled celluloid sleeve (binde). Section and threads, black celluloid coated. Rear of barrel has smooth domed piston filling knob, this operates screw piston mechanism, having elastomer piston seal. Rear of barrel is stamped with the letter 'B', indicating original nib tip size
Nib and Feed
Gold 14K nib stamped 'Pelikan - 585 - 14 KARAT'. Nib and hard rubber three vein feed are encapsulated within a hard rubber screw-in collar. Writing tip is broad cursive. Nib has moderate flex and writes very smoothly.

Service/Restoration
Pen has been fully disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned to remove traces of old ink. Filling mechanism removed. Piston screw mechanism and seal lightly lubricated, new elastomer piston seal fitted before resealing assembly back into barrel. Nib and feed correctly aligned within retaining collar, tip honed and assembly re-sealed back into section. Pen barrel and cap delicately hand polished. Write tested and finally flushed with clean water.
General Condition
Pen barrel and cap have no cracks, hairlines or dents. Age related surface scratches are absolutely minimal. There are no personalisation. Gold plating to clip, clip ring and cap bands is excellent. Cap to barrel screw is firm and positive. Barrel ink view clarity is exceptionally good. Piston draws full capacity of ink. We would classify this pen as being in excellent condition. Pen is supplied in bespoke Hepworth Dixon card box.

This 65 plus year old Pelikan 100 N fountain pen is an absolute beauty. The broad cursive nib tip makes for a very pleasurable writing experience.
