This Montblanc 3-44 was manufactured from 1951 to 1953. This early model has it's reference number heat stamped into the filling knob, with a plain gold filled lip band. The Montblanc logo is heat stamped into side of cap. Later versions of the Montblanc 344 had the Montblanc name and reference number engraved into the cap lip. The flat ebonite ink feed is also a sign of the pen being an early model.
