Pen barrel and cap are free from cracks and hairlines. There are no visible dents or scratches. No personalisation. Exceptionally clear ink view window. Gold plating to pocket clip and cap lip band shows no sign of ware. Engraving to cap lip ring is excellent. Piston screw mechanism is smooth and draws full barrel of ink. Cap to barrel threads are firm and positive. We would classify this pen as being in very excellent condition. Pen is supplied in bespoke Hepworth Dixon card box.
One of the most stunning and certainly the rarest Pelikan 140 model, the burgundy red model which was manufactured only briefly and it was mainly designated for export. Very little sign of use over the past 60 years. The medium writing tip is very smooth and the characteristic curved nib provides good flex.
