Pen has been fully disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned. Piston mechanism has been removed and seal replaced, seal and piston lightly lubricated before replacement. Piston vacuum checked for good seal. Clip and cap lip band have been stripped of old gold and re-electroplated with 12 carat gold. Pen barrel and cap delicately hand polished. Nib and feed assembly re-sealed into section. Write tested and finally flushed with clean water.
Pen barrel and cap are free from cracks and hairlines. There are no visible dents or scratches. No personalisation. Exceptionally clear barrel. Gold plating to pocket clip and cap lip band is new. Engraving to cap lip ring is excellent. Piston screw mechanism is smooth and draws full barrel of ink. Cap to barrel threads are firm and positive. We would classify this pen as being in excellent condition. Pen is supplied in bespoke Hepworth Dixon card box.
Classic green striated Pelikan 140, showing very little signs of use over the past 60 years. The medium nib is very smooth and a delight to write with.
