Clutch retained gloss black resin cap, fitted with gold filled slim pocket clip, secured by black raised stud, topped with Montblanc signet. Centre gold filled ‘cardinal’s hat’ style band is inscribed ‘MONTBLANC - MEISTERSTÜCK - No.14.
Barrel and section are gloss black resin. Ink view window has orange faceted over ring. Screw knob at rear of slim tapered barrel operates piston filling mechanism, gold filled band and Montblanc signet to flat end.
Pen measures 5.1/4 inches (13.5 cms) long with cap attached. Cap diameter: 13.5 mm. Weight: 15.7 grams.
Solid gold 18ct original wing-nib which is stamped ‘MONTBLANC - 18 C 750 and 14’. Nib tip is a medium stub, writes very smoothly and is nicely flexible.
Pen has been fully restored. All parts disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned to remove traces of old ink. Spiral screw piston mechanism and seal lubricated. Pen barrel and cap delicately hand polished. Reassembled, write tested and finally flushed with clean de-ionised water.
Pen barrel and cap are free from cracks and hairlines. There are no deep scratches or dents. No personalisation's. Gold plating is excellent with no pitting or brassing. Barrel and cap have a high gloss sheen. Piston filling system slides with ease and draws up maximum ink volume. Ink view window is clear. Cap clutch and clip firm and positive. Overall pen is ready to write and is in excellent condition.
The model 14 is the larger version of the series: Meisterstuck 12, 14 which were produced in the 1960's. This is a unique lightweight and stylish pen of timeless beauty.
