Most montblanc collectors will be aware of the 1950's models 252, 254 and 256. These pens had slip-on caps and winged nibs. The 264 was only produced for two years from 1957 to 1959. Its design, although similar in appearance, incorporated a more traditional open style nib and more importantly the mostly preferred screw-on cap. Earlier versions had a plain cap lip band and a Montblanc logo on side of cap. This later version has model number on cap lip band with no model heat stamping to piston turning knob.
