Pen has been carefully restored. Fully disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned to remove traces of old ink. Piston mechanism removed and lightly lubricated. Writing tip honed and finely tuned. Nib and feed re-aligned within BHR collar. Pen barrel and cap delicately hand polished. Reassembled, write tested and finally flushed with clean water.

General Condition

Pen barrel and cap are free from noticeable scratches, with no dents, cracks or hairlines. The 25x series of pens were prone to stress cracks in the cap, this particular pen is totally free from cracks. There are no personalisation. Gold plating to pocket clip and cap band is excellent, showing very little sign of age related ware. Piston filling system has been fully overhauled, piston slides with ease and draws up good ink volume. Ink view window is exceptionally clear. Cap clutch retention is firm and positive. Overall pen is ready to write and is in excellent condition. Pen is supplied in bespoke Hepworth Dixon card box.

Hepworth Comment

Blue ink view window version of this mid 1950's slip cap pen, smallest of the 25x series. Pen nib has good flex, medium kugel nib is an absolute delight to write with.
