Most montblanc collectors will be aware of the 1950's models 252, 254 and 256. These pens had slip-on caps and a winged nib. The 264 was only produced for two years from 1957 to 1959. Its design, although similar in appearance, incorporated a more traditional open style nib and more importantly the mostly preferred screw-on cap. This early version has a plain cap lip band, model identification on piston knob and a Montblanc logo on side of cap. Later models had model identification on cap lip band.
