This Montblanc 344 was manufactured from 1957 to 1959. Earlier models had their reference number heat stamped into filling knob, with a plain gold filled band positioned slightly above cap lip. This later version of the Montblanc 344 had the Montblanc name and reference number engraved into the cap lip. The curved section and clear ink view window suggest that this pen is a transitional model.
