Service and Restoration
Pen has been fully serviced. Disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned to remove traces of old ink. Nib, feeder and breather assembly removed from shell, cleaned and re-aligned. New ink collector, 'Plexiglas' ink sack and new ‘O’ ring seal to section fitted. Cap clutch replaced with four fork grip, due to original scratching section. Pen barrel and cap delicately hand polished. Pen reassembled, write tested and finally flushed with clean water.
Pen barrel and shell are free from cracks, hairlines and scratches. There are no personalisation. Rolled gold cap is free of dents and rolled gold loss, clip plating is good, top jewel is unmarked. No distortion to shell. Clip is firm, as is clutch cap retention. Cap engravings are very clear. Overall pen is ready to write and is in excellent condition. Pen is supplied in bespoke Hepworth Dixon card box. Made in England (New Haven) produced in 1950, based on nib markings.
The Parker 51 is one of the classic fountain pens of all time. The medium firm nib is a pleasure to write with.
