This Montblanc 344-G was manufactured c.1956. Earlier models had their reference number heat stamped into filling knob, with a plain gold filled band positioned slightly above cap lip. This version of the Montblanc 344-G latterly had the Montblanc name and reference number engraved into the cap lip ring. It should also be noted that this pen is fitted with a flat ski-slope ink feeder, last utilised in the early 1950's. We have it on authority that this pen is a genuine transitional Montblanc.
